We refer to news reports of the withdrawal of the defamation suit by Tan Sri Musa Hassan against Anwar Ibrahim today.
We wish to categorically state the following:-
1) the withdrawal against our client was unconditional and there was no out of court settlement as alleged by Musa Hassan.
2) Our client is satisfied with the unconditional withdrawal hence did not seek for costs
3) The withdrawal was initiated by Musa Hassan or his representative and at all times Anwar Ibrahim was ready to proceed with case.
Lastly our client stands by his police report dated 1.7.2008 and views this withdrawal as a vindication.
Our client will continue to pursue the issues raised in the said police report.
